grainSTATION – from here to there …
Reason 10’s GRAIN synthesizer is a fantastic sounding beast that is manipulating samples in a way, making it fun and easy to zoom into the patch related sample as deep as needed, and then using different methods to play back the resulting grains …
‘grainSTATION’ is filled with 70+ samples as a basic starting point for the 110 patches this ReFill is providing.
The patches are ranging from more ‘traditional’ stuff to modern & surprisingly new sounds – always pleasing with the typical ‘Grain charisma’.
As with all Soundcells ReFills the programming is done with a great eye on detail:
‘grainSTATION’ is using the mod matrix to fine-tune the patch behaviour so that the user can be sure to get ‘real reacting’ and great playable timbres. And of course the mod wheel is programmed for each patch for absolutely stunning results – so never forget to use it!
Tip: Load a patch, and change the sample by simply draging a new one on the synth – happy accidents will please your ear!
The following track is only using this ReFill (no additional effects added)
Single Combinator Patches (grainSTATION)
Later this year, Soundcells will release the ReFill ‘grainSTATION XL’ which will bring the following to the table:
• Combinator patches to multiply the power of ‘grainSTATION’.
• New GRAIN patches (these new device patches will be part of an (free) update for grainSTATION too)
So the user can choose:
• A ReFill with only device patches (grainSTATION)
• A ReFill with all these device patches *plus* combinator patches using the possibilities of layering, more fx processing and so on (grainSTATION XL)
Note: An upgrade from ‘grainSTATION’ to ‘grainSTATION XL’ will cost only the price difference of the two products.
